And I in my flannels with my stocking cap
Have just now awoken from a winter's day nap.
The window was open. The snow stayed outside,
The cats on the sill had watched me with pride.
I gaze out the window, at snow-covered fields,
Just staring, amazed at the beauty it yields.
Alone in this farm house, so peaceful and quiet,
I wish I wealthy enough just to buy it.
To live here and see here the sky moving by,
And knowing the beauty, but not asking why.
So I'll settle down and eat my fresh biscuit,
And mourn for those poor folks who don't know they missed it.
